WEST RIDGE — A Glen Ellyn man shot and killed city employee Da’J Flowers in February before fleeing Illinois and assuming a false identity on the West Coast, prosecutors said Friday.
Darreon Plummer, 33, was charged with first-degree murder and detained ahead of trial Friday after he was arrested Wednesday following an eight-month investigation into the killing of Flowers. Plummer had been dating and living with Flowers, 36, in their apartment in the 6900 block of North Bell Avenue in West Rogers Park and had an extensive history of domestic abuse, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
