I absolutely LOVE Halloween, but not for the reasons many other people do.
I love pumpkin patches, apple cider, cute spooky decorations, and dressing in costumes, but I am a complete scaredy-cat when it comes to haunted houses, hayrides, and horror movies.
I love reading about creepy, haunted places and watching other people willingly walk into them, but I do not need to experience them for myself. So naturally, when I heard one of Illinois’ biggest Halloween events is getting even bigger in 2026, I had to find out what all the fuss was about… for all of you who aren’t scaredy-cats.
