Construction to replace the Farrell Road bridge over Spring Creek is expected to take place in the Spring of 2027. In advance of this project, due to safety concerns, the structure will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, November 2, 2026. During this time, Farrell Road will be closed to thru traffic between Route 6 and Rosalind Street. The Farrell Road bridge over Spring Creek will be inaccessible for the duration of the closure.
A detour route will be posted, directing traffic to Maple Rd (U.S. 6), Fernwood Avenue/Briggs Street, and Bruce Road. The closure and detour route will remain in place until the bridge replacement project is complete, at which time the structure and roadway will reopen with no posted weight restrictions.
The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternative routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to signs in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment…
