Teen shot at by concealed carry holder after robbing Mexican restaurant in Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A 17-year-old teen was arrested Monday night after he was shot at by a concealed carry holder while attempting to rob a Mexican restaurant, Chicago Police said.

Police were called to the 5400 block of West Belmont Avenue around 9:35 p.m., in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, after the suspect entered the restaurant and demanded money from the register.

A man with a licensed handgun shot at the teen, but missed, leaving bullet holes in the restaurant’s window, WLS reported.

The teen escaped in a black SUV which later crashed in the 2800 block of North Long Avenue.

Chicago Police said a weapon was recovered.
