Man shot, another stabbed after ‘traffic altercation’ in Elgin: Police

ELGIN, Ill.(WBBM NEWSRADIO) –Elgin Police are investigating a traffic incident Tuesday afternoon during which one man was shot and another stabbed.

Police initially got a call from Sherman Hospital at about 2:30 p.m.
A man was there with a stab wound. According to police, he had been involved in what they’re calling a “traffic altercation” with another man near Randall Road and Fox Lane.

There, police located the second man. He had been shot.
They said neither man has life-threatening wounds. Police are not saying exactly what happened, aside from a traffic altercation that resulted in a stabbing and shooting.

They’re looking to the public to help fill in the blanks. Anyone who knows anything is asked to contact Elgin police.
