Girlfriend of Joliet man who killed 7 family members charged

JOLIET, Ill. — The girlfriend of the 23-year-old man who shot and killed seven members of his family has been charged with obstructing justice.

According to the Joliet Police Department, 21-year-old Kyleigh Cleveland-Singleton was identified as the girlfriend of Romeo Nance and the mother to their 3-year-old child.

Cleveland-Singleton and the 3-year-old were located by Joliet police on Monday at a residence on the 15000 block of Joliet Road in Plainfield. She voluntarily agreed to be transported to the Joliet Police Department for questioning in reference to the murders of seven of Nance’s family members.

Following questioning, Cleveland-Singleton allegedly made statements in order to prevent the apprehension of Nance and obstructed the investigation.

Cleveland-Singleton was charged on Wednesday with one count of obstructing justice.
