Standoff situation in Joliet ‘safely resolved’

JOLIET, Ill. — A standoff situation in Joliet has been “safely resolved,” according to police.

Authorities responded to Riverwalk Homes in the 300 block of North Broadway around 5 a.m. Thursday for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police said shortly after officers arrived, the situation evolved into a possible barricade situation. Members of the Joliet Police Department Special Operation Squad and Crisis Negotiator Team were called to the scene.

According to Joliet police, the situation was safely resolved and individuals have been detained. All roadways in the area have been reopened.
