CHICAGO — One person has died and multiple people were injured after a series of shootings and an armed robbery Saturday night and early Sunday morning across the city’s South Side.
Chicago police say multiple shootings took place over the span of about two hours in the South Side communities of Englewood, Roseland and South Shore.
Police say they found the man who died inside a pickup truck in the 6900 block of South Parnell Avenue in Englewood just after midnight Sunday. The vehicle had crashed into a fence and a tree, according to Chicago police.
When officers approached the vehicle, they found an unidentified man shot in the chest. He died shortly after arriving at University of Chicago Medical Center.

About an hour earlier, late Saturday night, police say they found a 53-year-old man shot several times in the 300 block of West 106th Street in Roseland. According to police, the man was standing on a sidewalk when an unknown man approached on foot and shot him before fleeing.
