LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Firefighters rescued a dog that fell through the ice in Lockport Township Sunday morning.
Around 9:20 a.m., crews with the Three Rivers Fire Department were sent to the area of S. River Road and Noah Lake Drive after a dog fell there the ice.
When crews arrived, they found the dog struggling to stay afloat.
A video post on the fire department’s Facebook page said that “Lt. Babcock and Firefighter McGahan immediately started rescue operations and were able to make a successful rescue and safely get the dog back to shore.”
The dog is doing well and has been returned to its home, the fire department said.
