Deadly Shooting Near Chicago High School Leaves One Teen Dead and Two Injured

Chicago mourns another tragic teen shooting incident in Edgewater neighborhood

Two teenagers were wounded, and one lost their life in a shooting near Nicholas Senn High School in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. Law enforcement officials confirmed the tragic event during a press conference.

According to the police, the victims, all students at Nicholas Senn High School, were walking when a vehicle approached, and an assailant opened fire. The victims were identified as two 16-year-olds and another victim under the age of 15, whose identities have not been disclosed.

The shooting occurred along Thorndale Avenue, and the incident has left the community in shock. Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed the city’s grief, acknowledging the pain caused by such frequent and tragic shootings. “The City of Chicago continues to grieve, and our hearts are heavy as these tragic shootings happen way too often,” Mayor Johnson stated during a press conference.

As of now, no suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling reported that the three teenagers were seemingly targeted, although the motive remains unclear.
