CHICAGO — Police offered a warning to South Side residents this week following a string of burglaries at homes in Hyde Park.
It is the second time in just over a month that officers have warned Hyde Park residents about burglaries in the area.
According to Chicago police, six burglaries unfolded at homes in the area between Jan. 18 and Jan. 30.

Officers say during each incident, the individual responsible was able to enter the homes through a door or window before stealing items from inside.
Police did provide a description of the individual responsible and said it is unclear if the burglaries were conducted by one person or a group.
Authorities were not able to provide details on what types of items were stolen and said the burglaries happened at several different times throughout the day.
Police provided the following list of times and locations where the burglaries occurred:
- 5400 block of South Ellis Avenue between 3 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18.
- 5100 block of South Drexel Boulevard between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23
- 5500 block of South Harper Avenue at around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26.
- 5700 block of South Kenwood Avenue between Saturday, Jan. 27, around 9 a.m. and Monday, Jan. 29 at 11 p.m.
- 5300 block of South Kimbark Avenue at around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
- 5600 block of South Kenwood Avenue between 7 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
