Two men accused of carjacking pregnant woman in Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two 18-year-olds from Joliet are facing charges after allegedly going on a crime spree.

Joliet police are looking for more video footage after they said Louis Jones and Dakoda Ulmer, both 18, went on a crime spree that included stopping in the St. Pat’s neighborhood, pressing a handgun into a 32-year-old pregnant woman’s stomach, threatening the woman’s 13-year-old daughter, and making off with their Mazda CX9.

Tactical officers later found the Mazda running with the 18-year-olds inside. After a chase, the suspects crashed into a parked truck, leading to their arrest. Inside the stolen Mazda was a loaded handgun, extra ammunition, and stolen items.

An investigation also connected the suspects to other crimes, including a stolen Ford Taurus taken from Stang Kelly Liquors on Jefferson near Raynor left running and unlocked, and later found crashed into a parked car, along with multiple reports of burglarized vehicles, as well as a separate attempted carjacking of a Chevy Traverse.
