The charge stems from an armed carjacking that allegedly occurred in the evening hours on Nov. 27, 2022, when police say Porter allegedly held a woman at gunpoint and stole her vehicle in the 1100 block of West George Street in Lakeview.

Porter was eventually located by officers on Friday and taken into custody in the 4400 block of North Sheridan Road, in Uptown.

Porter appeared in court on Sunday for a detention hearing.
