The city of Chicago is still abuzz from the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, which netted the Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze . As we get to know the newest Bears, On Tap Sports Net will open dialogue with those who previously covered the players for insight into what to expect on and off the field.

Sunny Verma: Seeing Washington Huskies go back to back at picks No. 8 and No. 9 must have been special for you, what does that tell us about where the Washington program is today?

Roman Tomashoff: It’s a fantastic feeling and a really great sign for the future of the program. Even though the Huskies are bound to take a step back in 2024 with all the talent that left for the NFL Draft, Jedd Fisch is in a very good place to continue building the Washington program as it arrives in the Big Ten. His biggest selling point has been “Be A Pro,” and seeing these three guys go in the first round is a solid building block for the future of UW.
