Suburban man picked random driver to carjack under a Chicago police surveillance camera, officials say

CHICAGO – Officials say a Bolingbrook man and an unknown accomplice followed and carjacked a random driver in Chicago Lawn earlier this year. “Pulling over a vehicle, any random vehicle, with a firearm stating that the [victim] would die is a threat to any person and this [victim],” Judge Shauna Boliker wrote in a detention order Friday that will keep Jose Rios, 29, in jail pending trial.
