Island Lake man given 6 years for supplying victim with fatal dose of drugs

KANE COUNTY, Ill. — An Island Lake man has been handed a six-year prison sentence for providing a lethal dose of drugs to a victim in 2021.

Daniel Carmody agreed to a six-year sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the felony offense of drug-induced homicide, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced on Thursday afternoon.

Prosecutors said in early May of 2021, Carmody unlawfully delivered heroin and cocaine to 31-year-old Daniel Liewald, a St. Charles resident.
