LOMBARD, Ill. — Taking care of services at the DMV just got a bit easier for residents in the western suburbs.
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias stopped by the brand-new Lombard DMV on Friday to announce state-of-the-art upgrades.
Typically a visit to the DMV means a long wait, but thanks to some recent changes, people should see shorter wait times.
“We got right in very helpful in the front,” DMV customer Gys Oakes said.

Oakes and his daughter Anna stopped by Lombard’s new facility on Friday afternoon to get her first car registered. The two said they were in and out in only 30 minutes, something Gus called a major upgrade.
“I personally have been to the other location. Three kids have had to get their licenses at the old location and this is a major upgrade,” Oaks said.
The new and improved Lombard DMV, which opened up on Tuesday, is located in Eastgate Center, inside an old bank building on the other side of the shopping plaza from where the old DMV operated.
