‘This hurts:’ Park Ridge ice cream shop hit in Christmas Eve smash-and-grab

PARK RIDGE, Ill. — A trio of masked burglars got away with the cash register from a Park Ridge ice cream shop early Christmas Eve morning, police said.

The crooks got into the Triple Scoop’d Ice Cream Shop on the 800 block of Devon Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. by breaking a front door window with a brick, police said.

Surveillance video, which police are reportedly reviewing, is said to show three males in dark clothing, hooded sweatshirts and dark face masks inside the store and getting away with the register.

“I rarely find myself at a loss for words. This hurts….,” a post on the shop’s Facebook page said .
