ADDISON, Ill. — Pre-trial release has been denied for two suburban teens accused of carjacking a couple outside of a movie theater in Addison before leading police on a chase on Sunday evening.
The two suspects, a 16-year-old boy from Willowbrook and a 17-year-old boy from Bensenville, who have not been identified due to their age, have each been charged with one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced Tuesday.
The charges stemmed from the duo’s alleged role in a carjacking that unfolded just before 8 p.m. on Sunday outside of Marcus Cinema in the 1500 block of West Lake Street.

According to police, the victims, a man and a woman, had just parked their 2014 white Infinity when the man exited and walked around the side of the car to open the door for the second victim, who was in the passenger seat.
Prosecutors said as the victim was opening the door, two masked individuals, who are believed to be the suspects, allegedly approached him on foot after exiting their grey Dodge Challenger that was parked nearby.
