Forecast: Subzero ‘feels like’ temps; large snowmaker may graze Chicago area Sunday

CHICAGO — Chicagoland woke up to some frigid temperatures on Saturday morning.

The weekend started with “feels like” temperatures below zero and conditions won’t improve much from there. Sunday will be a touch warmer, with temperatures in the single digits.

A massive winter storm that will greatly impact the Tennessee and Ohio river valleys looks like it’ll graze the Chicago area later in the weekend. Models are predicting significant snowfall south of Champaign. The metro area could see some lake-effect snow on Sunday evening.

Winter Storm Warnings for areas near us though – they start Saturday afternoon and go until noon Monday for areas downstate near Champaign & Springfield and places like St. Louis & Indianapolis.
