Illinois: Lottery Heist at I-57 Travel Center Leaves Police Scratching for Clues

Peotone, IL – Police are investigating an early morning theft at the Peotone Travel Center off I-57, where four suspects made off with a display case of lottery scratch-off tickets. The group fled in a silver or gray Lincoln SUV before officers arrived.

The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the Peotone Police Department. Surveillance footage captured one suspect wearing a mask and gloves while dismantling the ticket display. Police are now working with the Illinois Lottery Commission to track the stolen tickets and identify the suspects.
