‘Romantic rivalry’ leads to shooting, SWAT incident in Northwest Indiana

PORTAGE, Ind. — A “romantic rivalry” lead to a shooting and SWAT situation in Northwest Indiana, according to police.

Just after 4:20 p.m., Portage police responded to the 200 block of Greta Court on the report of a man being shot.

Police learned that the shooting had actually occurred in the 300 block of Jacobs Place, but the victim, a 28-year-old Hobart man, had been moved to Greta Court…
