Two people were killed in a four-vehicle crash Sunday night near Elgin on Plank Road.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office says a Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound on Plank when the driver swerved to avoid a deer, veering into oncoming traffic. The truck narrowly missed a landscaping vehicle and collided head-on with a GMC Sierra with several passengers. The Ford pickup was then hit by a Dodge Ram and caught fire.
Two occupants of the GMC were killed and identified as 31-year-old Erick Garcia-Porcayo and 25-year-old Rosalio Porcayo-Porcayo. The 18-year-old driver of the Ford and the 22-year-old driver of the GMC were both taken to local hospitals with serious injuries, but are said to be in stable condition.
