West Chicago, IL – A DeKalb man has been convicted in DuPage County for shooting a man in the face while the victim was on a dinner break from work in 2021.
A jury found Ahmad Steele, 38, guilty of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm after deliberating for approximately two hours following a three-day trial. The verdict was announced by DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.
According to prosecutors, the shooting occurred on January 28, 2021, at approximately 7:31 p.m. outside Mapei Corporation on Industrial Drive in West Chicago. Steele parked his Chevrolet Blazer near the victim, exited the vehicle with a shotgun, and shot the man in the face before fleeing the scene…
