36-year-old woman critically injured after crashing car into apartment building on West Side overnight, police say

CHICAGO — A 36-year-old woman was critically injured after crashing her car into an apartment building overnight on the city’s West Side.

According to Chicago police, officers responding to a traffic call around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of North Austin Boulevard discovered a single-vehicle accident in which a blue sedan crashed into an apartment building.

Police say the 36-year-old woman driving the car was injured and treated by the Chicago Fire Department before being taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported, and police say citations are pending…
