Man Arrested In Joliet On Multiple Charges

At 7:41 a.m. on March 27, a Joliet police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry near Plainfield Road and Wyoming Avenue after an earlier report

that the vehicle had been taken without permission of the owner. Initially, the driver initially appeared to yield, but then fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. Out of a concern for safety, the vehicle was not pursued.

At 6:26 p.m. on March 31, Joliet police responded to 419 North Bluff Street after information had been received that the driver of that suspected stolen Camry was in an apartment, despite being on a ban list from the Housing Authority of Joliet. The man was located in an apartment and was placed into custody without incident. Following a search, officers recovered suspected cocaine that appeared to be packaged for sale.
