14-year-olds face arson charges in Plainfield restaurant blaze

Two 14-year-olds are facing charges of arson and criminal damage to property following two separate incidents in Plainfield.

According to police, cell phone evidence linked the teens to a fire that occurred on March 24 at the former Larry’s Diner on West Lockport Street.

The two were taken into custody about a week after the fire, following a separate incident involving property damage near Lockport Street and Wood Farm Road. Police obtained warrants to search their phones, which led to the connection with the earlier fire…
