Edward Weiher, 49, and Alexa Balen, 28, both of Homer Glen, have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of their two-year-old daughter, Trinity Balen-Weiher. These charges follow an extensive investigation and come after multiple prior charges filed against the couple.
These charges stem from an incident on November 6, 2024, when deputies from the Will County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive child at a residence in the 12200 block of W. Thorn Apple Drive in Homer Glen. While en route, deputies were informed of a possible carbon monoxide leak in the home.
