Driver hits 100 mph fleeing police, chase called off

A driver sped off at more than 100 mph after police tried to stop a vehicle with plates tied to another car early June 15, authorities said.

Countryside police said officers were alerted around 1:12 a.m. to a vehicle displaying license plates linked to a different car wanted by Tinley Park police.

Officers spotted the car near Joliet Road and Wolf Road, but the driver began to flee before they activated emergency lights, police said…
