Aurora Police Charge Suspect In Deadly Shooting

Aurora Police have charged 44-year-old Nathanael Carire-Arocho of Aurora in connection with the June 29th shooting death of a 21-year-old Aurora man.

At approximately 5:56 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, Aurora police officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Responding officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound who was in critical condition.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 6:39 p.m. The Kane County Coroner’s Office took custody of the victim and conducted an autopsy on June 30, 2025. The Kane County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the deceased as Tirom Kirksey, Jr. of Aurora, Illinois.
