Video shows gang signs thrown moments before drive-by gunmen killed 4, injured 14

Newly surfaced social media video shows people flashing gang signs just moments before a drive-by mass shooting that left 18 people shot—four fatally—outside Artis Lounge, 311 West Chicago Avenue, in River North late Wednesday night.

The video, originally posted by TikTok user @globaltrap_, appears to be a livestream showing a crowd gathered outside the venue around 11 p.m. following a record release party hosted by South Side rapper Mello Buckzz, whose real name is Melanie Doyle.

“That’s blood! That’s blood! You know. Whole lotta gang s***,” a man says as the camera pans across the group. Multiple individuals can be seen making gang-related hand gestures.

Minutes later, gunmen inside a dark-colored sedan opened fire on the crowd. A second video obtained by CWBChicago, recorded seconds after the gunfire ended, shows at least three people visible in the TikTok livestream lying lifeless on the sidewalk and in the gutter before police arrived.
