2 men face attempted murder charge in separate Dan Ryan Expressway shootings

CHICAGO (WGN) — Illinois State Police on Thursday announced the arrest of two people in connection with a pair of shootings earlier this month on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

Troopers say 36-year-old Lamarkcus Ferguson of Country Club Hills faces a felony attempted murder charge following the events of Wednesday, July 9.

According to ISP, troopers responded to I-90 northbound near W. 43rd Street in Chicago around 2 p.m. for a report of shots fired. ISP later said that two recent high school graduates were shot and taken to the hospital.

Authorities later identified Ferguson as a suspect. Following his arrest on Monday, July 21, Cook County prosecutors charged the 36-year-old with five counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, and five counts of aggravated discharge of a gun…
