Sources: Chicagoland replacing Mexico City in NASCAR’s 2026 schedule

JOLIET, IL. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — NASCAR’s Cup Series won’t return to Mexico City in 2026, and in its place will be Chicagoland Speedway, sources confirm with Carolina Sports Live.

Mexico City was only on the calendar for the first and only time in 2025, marking NASCAR’s first point-scoring race outside the United States.

Shane van Gisbergen won the inaugural race. A few weeks later, he won at Chicago’s street course for his second win of the season, and third of his career. Coincidentally, both of those races won’t be on the calendar next season.
