St. Charles man sentenced on charges of fleeing police, driving under the influence in September 2024 arrest

A St. Charles man was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of fleeing and eluding police and driving under the influence from a September 2024 arrest, according to Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser.

According to prosecutors, officers were dispatched to a residence in Kane County on September 15, 2024 for a report of a domestic dispute. After hearing that the police were coming, 54-year-old Robert S. Lord entered a vehicle after he had been drinking and attempted to leave the residence. He was located by law enforcement and engaged them in a lengthy, high-speed pursuit. During the pursuit, some Kane County Sheriff’s Department property was damaged. Lord’s vehicle was eventually stopped due to damage. During his arrest, a warrant was issued to draw blood for an alcohol test, but Lord continued to refuse officers…
