Chicago’s cycling community on Sunday honored a teenage bicyclist who was struck and killed by a car in the Loop three months ago and raised awareness for bike safety.
Just before 5 a.m. on May 26, 18-year-old Yader Castaneda was hit and killed while riding a Divvy bike at Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street.
“He was the funniest person I knew,” one of the vigil attendees said. “He would always put a smile on my face no matter what. I was never sad around him. He brightened up every room he was in. He always made everyone laugh.”…
