Schaumburg, Illinois Police Close Roads, Issue Shelter-in-Place Order Amid Armed Subject Investigation

Schaumburg, IL – A large police presence in Schaumburg prompted multiple road closures and a shelter-in-place order Wednesday morning after authorities responded to an incident involving an allegedly armed individual.

According to the Village of Schaumburg Government, officers were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. to the 21 Kristin Drive apartment complex to conduct a well-being check on an armed subject. Residents in the immediate area were instructed to remain indoors by 10:55 a.m., as the situation unfolded.

By 11:34 a.m., police had closed southbound Roselle Road at Hillcrest Boulevard and northbound Roselle Road at State Parkway. Authorities urged drivers to seek alternate routes and avoid the area until further notice…
