Illinois: Fugitive Arrested in Melrose Park, Extradited to North Dakota

Chicago, IL – A man wanted in North Dakota on charges involving the alleged corruption of a minor was arrested earlier this month in Cook County, authorities confirmed.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old Hugo Osbaldo Gomez was taken into custody August 10 after investigators located him living with a family friend in the 1600 block of North 33rd Avenue in Melrose Park. Gomez was wanted on a warrant from Cass County, North Dakota, for four counts of gross sexual imposition and corruption of a minor.

Sheriff’s officials said surveillance teams observed Gomez leaving the residence with a woman before entering a parked vehicle. Officers trailed the car until conducting a traffic stop near 500 North Mannheim Road in Hillside. Gomez, identified as a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested without incident…
