Minooka Man Accused of Slapping & injuring Child

Six charges were filed against a Minooka man accused of injuring a child under the age of eight. William Groth was charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery To a Child, both class three felonies and four misdemeanors counts of domestic battery.

Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer told WCSJ that Groth is accused of slapping a child in the leg area causing bruising on August 29th. He also allegedly slapped the same child in the face causing a nosebleed on August 30th. Both alleged incidents happened at a house on Davidson Drive in Minooka.

After an investigation, the 36-year-old Groth was arrested by the Minooka Police Department at his house on Davidson Drive in Minooka on September 6th and transported to the Grundy County Jail. Groth remains free on pretrial release…
