DuPage County, IL – Armed Man Allegedly Threatened Resident Outside Elmhurst Home Friday Night

Elmhurst, IL – A Villa Park man accused of brandishing a loaded handgun at an Elmhurst resident outside their home has been ordered held without bond, authorities announced Saturday.

According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, 29-year-old Devontae Allmon was arrested September 26 after a homeowner reported finding him crouching near a vehicle outside the victim’s residence. When confronted, Allmon allegedly pulled out a black handgun, racked it, and threatened the victim before the victim retreated inside and called 911.

Elmhurst police officers located Allmon about a block away, where he allegedly ignored commands, fled, and was later taken into custody wearing a bulletproof vest. Officers say they recovered a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun at the scene. Investigators also allege that Allmon attempted to enter multiple vehicles in the area…
