On September 29, 2025, at 5:49 a.m., Officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Burshire Court after receiving multiple calls reporting possible gunfire at the home. Upon arrival, Officers discovered an unresponsive 40- year-old male in the yard of the residence with what appeared to be a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound. After entering the residence, Officers discovered an unresponsive 40-year-old female who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Four juveniles ranging in ages 3 to 16 were located unharmed in the home and were placed in protected custody.
Following a preliminary investigation of this incident, Officers and Detectives determined this shooting to be domestic-related. It is alleged that the male shot and killed his wife and then exited the home and took his own life with the handgun. The handgun was recovered during this investigation.
The Kendall County Coroner’s Office responded and pronounced the male and female dead at the scene. Officers and Detectives conducted an extensive canvas of the neighborhood to gather further information relevant to this investigation.
