3 years for DUI driver who killed passenger in high-speed crash near Belmont Harbor

The speeding DUI driver whose passenger died in a crash on Lake Shore Drive near Belmont Harbor last year has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Jaime Torres Jr., 21, pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated DUI causing a fatal accident in exchange for the sentence from Judge Arthur Willis. Torres must serve 85 percent of the prison term.
