The Yorkville Police Department says it has officially closed its investigation into the death of 16-year-old Aiyana Williams.
The department says no evidence exists to suggest that Williams’ death was caused by abuse, self-inflicted injuries, foul play, or any criminal involvement. Williams went missing on June 16 from the 900 block of Fawn Ridge Court. Police later found remains that were identified as Williams. The Kendall County Coroner ruled the cause of death as undetermined, largely due to the deteriorated condition of the remains.
