Will County, IL – Homewood Man Arrested After Volleyball Game at Lincoln-Way East High School

Frankfort, IL – A 57-year-old man from Homewood was arrested Monday night after allegedly fleeing from a Will County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer at Lincoln-Way East High School, authorities said.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 5:45 p.m. on October 14, 2025, when attendees at a volleyball game reported a man acting suspiciously on campus. When the school resource officer approached, the man reportedly ran away.

Deputies, K9 units, drones, and neighboring police agencies joined the search through a nearby subdivision, officials said. The suspect was later identified through school security footage as Eric C. Havens, 57, of Homewood, Illinois
