Illinois Conservation Police say a 16-year-old boy from Elmhurst fell about 30 feet after going off trail at Matthiessen State Park in LaSalle County Friday afternoon.
Police say the incident happened in the Upper Dells area of the park at about 12:45 p.m. The teen had been hiking with friends and family.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, carried out of the park, and then taken to a hospital in Peru. Police say the teen wasn’t complaining of any injuries but was checked as a precaution due to the height of the fall…
