Elmhurst, IL –A police dashcam captured a bright meteor lighting up the Chicago suburbs early Saturday morning, stunning viewers across the Midwest.
According to the Elmhurst Police Department, Officer Jacob Wiegele was patrolling Illinois Route 83 near St. Charles Road around 5 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, when he saw the meteor streaking south over Elmhurst. Acting quickly, the officer activated his dash camera and recorded the object’s descent through the dark sky.
