Federal agents arrested a Missouri man in Aurora after he allegedly delivered more than 11½ pounds of suspected fentanyl to an undercover officer during a sting operation tied to a Mexico-based drug trafficking network, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid painkiller estimated to be 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine. Traffickers often mix it into other street drugs, causing overdoses among users who don’t realize they’re taking it.
