SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WGN) — A man from Schaumburg charged with killing his father will remain behind bars following a judge’s ruling on Monday.
The judge ordered 28-year-old Abhijit Patel to be detained pending court proceedings. According to court records, on Nov. 29, Patel allegedly beat the 67-year-old to death with a sledgehammer.
Patel’s mother came home from work to check on her diabetic husband and found him covered in blood.
