CHICAGO — In 2025, the State of Illinois received more than 55,000 applications for vanity and personalized plates.
According to Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias’ office, 550 of those were rejected “because the combinations were deemed inflammatory, profane, offensive or too difficult to read – all grounds for rejection under state law.”
