Just before 5:30 Tuesday morning, officers responded to the Houbolt toll bridge over the Des Plaines River for a reported motorist assist after a vehicle was observed stopped on the west shoulder with hazard lights activated.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle running with the keys in the ignition with no driver present. Officers utilized drones to search the surrounding area, and nearby businesses were also checked.
The Joliet Fire Department was initially requested to assist with a search of the area. As the search progressed, an officer located a deceased adult male on land beneath the bridge. There were no indications of foul play…
