CHICAGO (WGN) — Three teens have been charged in connection with an incident where a 62-year-old man was beaten into a coma on a West Side CTA bus.
According to a court proffer obtained from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, 18-year-old Lyndale Roberts Jr. was charged with aggravated battery and great bodily harm after a court appearance on Tuesday. The two other defendants, a 15-year-old male and female, were charged with three counts of aggravated battery and will be tried as juveniles as court proceedings continue.
All three were ordered detained until trial.
Police took Roberts and one of the juveniles into custody on Sunday, Dec. 21, in connection with a separate investigation involving motor vehicle burglaries. The Chicago Police Department confirmed the other juvenile was taken into police custody at a separate time…
